Monday and Stuffed Turkey

So, another Monday and another week closer to both my deadline and Christmas. I need more coffee. Today’s update will be mostly short. There was a week and a weekend. Bye. Okay, okay. Not really. But it will be a quick rundown.

Sports: Yeah. My Cowboys lost. At least OU won. End of story.

Reading: Have you heard about Audible’s Romance subscription service? There’s a 30-day free trial and you get to listen to as many of the books they have in the “special” collection as you want. At the end of 30 days, the program will cost $6.95 for Audible subscribers and Kindle Unlimited members. Or listeners without a subscription can access the Audible Romance package for a $14.95 monthly fee. I’m doing the free trial. I’ll see when it comes time to renew. I’m currently doing a re-listen to the Chronicles of Elantra series by Michelle Sagawa. I have a few of them on Audible already. I can get the rest of them through the program so yay! I also tried a new to me author. I got about two chapters in and decided not to finish it. The author will get paid for what I listened to and I can return the book and not feel bad because if I’d paid for it and returned it? The author doesn’t get any royalty. So, it’s a way to try new authors and books, plus enjoy old favorites I normally get from the library.

TV: I’m binge watching both the Hallmark Channel and Hallmark Mysteries and Movies channel because…’tis the season.

Writing: I’m doing some! I’m thissss close to The End on Tucker’s story. I’ve reworked the opening to the next Red Dirt book in my mind–it’s been bugging me so trust me, this is a good thing. I got hit with the ol’ light bulb moment for a Nightriders book (more about that in a sec) and I’m looking at my writing schedule for the rest of this year and 2018. Things shake out like this, but nothing is carved in stone. This is just sort of an outline and as y’all know, I’m a puzzler/pantser, not a plotter. So in no particular order except for #1 and 2…
1) Finish Tucker’s story and Cooper’s proposal by the end of the year.
2) A novella for Elle James’s Brotherhood Protectors Kindle World in April.
3) Wizard’s story, Nightriders.
4) Ariel’s story, Penumbra.
5) Cooper’s book and hopefully either Bridger or Boone’s.
6) A Hard Target book, not sure who the hero is.
7) A Christmas novella set in the Nightrider world, with Gunner as the hero. His heroine’s name is Harper. She’s older–a widow. It’ll be fun. And maybe a stuffed turkey.
Again, no guarantee, but that’s the plan.

Speaking of plans, what’s yours for this week? I’m not stuffing turkey. We’re doing sandwiches and pie, either here or somewhere else. Plans are in the air. Mainly, it’s getting this book finished, edited, and sent to New York. Have a great week!

  1. Shhh, no Christmas until Friday. Your busyness is making me dizzy this morning. I’m so glad you have Audible to fill in the reading space when you can’t read.

Plans for the week? Reading, fishing, maybe writing if I can ever get my brain in the right space. Hubs is in charge of Thanksgiving, so I bought all the stuff and I’m leaving it to him. I have a sale going on this week – for Dying Embers and Fertile Ground – so I have that to attend to. My to-do list for cleaning is still there, so I’ll be addressing that throughout the week. Today I have bills to pay and an editor to pay and stuffs. Which I should probably get started on. Later days, dude.

You realize you’re talking to the person who never took down the Christmas tree after last year, right? *tries to look embarrassed* I saw about the sale. Sorry I already have them. Well, not sorry. I’m glad I have them. Just sorry I can’t buy them again. I hope you sell many copies! Between Audible and the library, I’m staying entertained. Of course, I’m OD’ing on Hallmark, too. 😆

      Tater days, dude! 😉
