Cyber Monday

I’m guessing everyone survived Black Friday, Small Business Saturday, Sofa Sunday (according to the Guardian newspaper), and today is Cyber Monday. Log into your browsers…ready…set…mouse hovering over all those one-click-buy buttons…

I should have put my books on sale. Or not. I did that one year. I didn’t sell any more books than I did the year before or the year after. Color me Grumpy Cat. I actaully went in search of a Grumpy Cat Cyber Monday meme. I’ll never get that hour back.

So…besides it being the Monday after T-giving when all the on-line retailers try to suck your credit cards into the vast cosmic void of the internet, it’s time to rehash my exciting laugh. … … *yawn* Okay, I’m only kidding a little bit. I got some writing done. And I got some plot thingies figured out. And I plan on getting some more real work done today.

Sports was a mixed bag. I swear the OSU Cowboys are all Jekyl and Hyde this year. They play an incredible game against a highly ranked opponent and win. The next week, they play an unranked team and…lose. It…I just…no words. OU won so now the Sooners take on Texas in the Big 12 championship. Texas beat Oklahoma during regular season. This is the Sooners’ chance to get their own back.

I fell into a reread of Jayne Castle’s Harmony series. AMARYLLIS, one of her early scifi romances released in audio last week and I got a deal on the audiobook. There are two more books in that series that haven’t made it to audio yet but since the St. Helens world and the Harmony world are sort of sister planet/places backstory, I jumped into Harmony with AFTER DARK. I’m up to the 5th book now, DARK LIGHT.

Random trivia: Do you know what the name “Ariel” means? Silver Hawk. Who knew? Still, fitting for my bad boy fae from the Penumbra Papers. And yes, he’s making a cameo, along with Roman, in the current PP WIP.

Not much TV or movie watching. LIVE PD, and PD CAM are about it. Oh, and some of those odd science shows like “What on earth?” and “Secrets of the Abandoned.” I never know where I’ll pick up some weird idea for a plot twist, setting, or story line.

And that’s what’s up in my world today. What’s going on in your neck of the woods?

  1. Not much going on here. Wrapped up the sale and I’ll post numbers and junk about that later this week. And that’s pretty much all my brain could hold last week. Unequal is due back on Saturday, which means I have to shift focus to that, so I can get it publishable and published. The 17th? Maybe?

Sorry your team is giving you grief. I heard Michigan got whomped by the Buckeyes. Meh. Yay for you getting some work done! You go, girl! Yay for reading and for Live PD. I swear, if it wasn’t for Live PD, I wouldn’t have anything to watch sometimes. And we had ‘free pay channel’ weekend, too. Bleh. I watched one new movie – Jumanji 2. Cute movie. Jack Black pretty much stole the show. Other than that, nada.

Michigan State won. I think. It was a weird college football weekend. FYI, bonus Live PD episode Wednesday night! 😆

Sadly, I’ve written a whole 250 words today. That ain’t gonna cut it. I also have to get out to the store. Deeders is out of gushy food. She’s already loud and obnoxiously pushy at 5 a.m. No gushy food with her kibble? Yeah…no. I’ll get dressed here in a bit and go brave the human crush at Wallyworld.

      Looking forward to UNEQUAL! Yay!

  2. I didn’t do Black Friday shopping, thou playing the penny slots, might fall into that category 😏
They weren’t very friendly to me and alot of other peeps, from what I was hearing. Thou mom always said they didn’t build these grand hotels by us winning.
I did see alot more people in Harrah’s with pets, this trip. One couple had a blue eye Husky, which came up to my hip, tagging along was a puppy version it was sturting around.
Harley Davidson was awesome, now I know why people get in trouble. I imagine the Wolves
spend alot there 😉 I wish I would have known I could have sat on the Harley in the front for a picture.
Glad they shipped *slapping hand* my friend got more then he has asked for. I texted him this will be Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Yrs treats. he lol because he knows how I am. Also I got me a couple of things 😉 he inspired a short piece and the current has a biker atmosphere, so I thought what I bought as research =)
I trying to get back to the real world routine.
Hope things are good with you Ladies.

I think you have the right idea. Go on vacation for Thanksgiving and have fun. I’m still trying to figure out how to declare all the romance books I buy on my taxes because they’re “market research.” Harley gear is definitely research-worthy! Glad you’re home safe. Good luck with getting back into a real world routine. Sucks, right? 😉

      • Mom and I did the Thanksgiving lunch, go to Wallyworld 😊, grab some pie and coffee. Then I would drop her off and I would come home start Christmas decorating and take advantage of the extra day.
When she passed a few years ago, I tried to keep the ritual going, but I felt lost. So since she liked to Vegas, 2 times a year. I like to go, so I figured we still have our Thanksgiving together at Harrah’s 😉 As long as I have my health and the money I will make an annual trip.

Got something to say?
