This is it. The last day of 2020. This time of year, lots of people are looking back, doing retrospects, remembering past events. Me? I can’t say I’m sorry to see the old year fade away. I’d like to look forward to 2021 but I’m not sure it’s going to be any better. I’m something of a cockeyed optimist for the most part but I’m not quite sure we’ve hit bottom yet. Something I learned from being an Army wife: Hope for the best but prepare for the worst. I’m always prepared. At the same time, this message from the Universe spoke to the optimist in me. And it’s true.

But I’m “crunchy” old. 🤣 You should hear the snap, crackle and pops when I crawl out of bed in the morning. Still, I like to think that as an old soul I’ve gained some wisdom along the way and one bit of wisdom I try to remember is this: Smile often, laugh whenever you can, and tell your family and friends that you love them. I said ‘see ya next year’ to the gals at the bank yesterday. Humorless trolls gave me a pity half-laugh. In their defense, they’d probably heard it a thousand times already, But hey, it was the first time I’D said it, so nerts to them. (My bank bestie is on vacation. No nerts for her.) Then I stopped at the DG to buy cheap chocolate and found two leftover Christmas decor toys. They’re so cute! I named them Ralph the Elf and Kris Moose. I put a pic on FB and I’ll share them to my blog this morning, once I get off my duff and write a post. They give me a happy.
I loved your happy and nerts is right! They should have been on the ball and said to you first! Glad the bestie is getting some probably much needed vacay time away from the trolly-nerts. 😉 I plan to wake up on the bright side tomorrow and see what happens… If nothing else, it should be interesting. 😆
