Thursday Thoughts: Universal Souls

This is it. The last day of 2020. This time of year, lots of people are looking back, doing retrospects, remembering past events. Me? I can’t say I’m sorry to see the old year fade away. I’d like to look forward to 2021 but I’m not sure it’s going to be any better. I’m something of a cockeyed optimist for the most part but I’m not quite sure we’ve hit bottom yet. Something I learned from being an Army wife: Hope for the best but prepare for the worst. I’m always prepared. At the same time, this message from the Universe spoke to the optimist in me. And it’s true.

Young souls, Silver, play hard to get.

Mature souls, play hard.

But old souls, just play…

La, la, la –
The Universe

Old as in wisdom, Silver, not crunchy old.

But I’m “crunchy” old. 🀣 You should hear the snap, crackle and pops when I crawl out of bed in the morning. Still, I like to think that as an old soul I’ve gained some wisdom along the way and one bit of wisdom I try to remember is this: Smile often, laugh whenever you can, and tell your family and friends that you love them. Bottom line, I love you guys! Thanks for being in my life. Have a safe and sane celebration and I’ll see you next year. Psst I just love that gag! *gigglesnort* I’m going to play today. What about you?

  1. Love you, too! :hugs: Happy New Year!

I’m like you – hope for the best, prepare for the worst. The hope for the best is hard right now, but I’ll hope today. And worry about preparing tomorrow.

I said ‘see ya next year’ to the gals at the bank yesterday. Humorless trolls gave me a pity half-laugh. In their defense, they’d probably heard it a thousand times already, But hey, it was the first time I’D said it, so nerts to them. (My bank bestie is on vacation. No nerts for her.) Then I stopped at the DG to buy cheap chocolate and found two leftover Christmas decor toys. They’re so cute! I named them Ralph the Elf and Kris Moose. I put a pic on FB and I’ll share them to my blog this morning, once I get off my duff and write a post. They give me a happy.

I loved your happy and nerts is right! They should have been on the ball and said to you first! Glad the bestie is getting some probably much needed vacay time away from the trolly-nerts. πŸ˜‰ I plan to wake up on the bright side tomorrow and see what happens… If nothing else, it should be interesting. πŸ˜†

I saw a quote that said
Nobody claim 2021 as “your year”,ok??
We’re all going to walk in realll slow.
    Be quiet.
    Be good.
    Don’t. Touch. Anything.
We still have a Aways To Go in all this.
😷 …… 6′ are going to be around for a long while! But IMO the year change to 2021 will do so good in peeps mind set😏 And I love getting new πŸ“… 😊.
Its suppose to stay in the 40’s and β›ˆ all day, so dont know if my usual neighbors will be shooting off πŸŽ†βœ¨
So I wish you all an Early Happy New Year!
    Stay safe!!!

    • Silver James says:

Happy New Year! We’re under a winter storm watch/warning. I’m REALLY hoping the idiots around here stay inside rather than shooting off fireworks or their guns. Both are a possibility. Ugh.

And good advice on how to approach the beginning and the end. πŸ˜‰

Great quote…. so had lunch with my brother after sleeping late today no alarm…yea since got home work at 11 last night…
The Cats and I are settled in for a rip roaring evening…. soak in lavender epsom salt bath, pop the top off a cold Sprite and gather the catnip for the crew, and settle into a good book.
    Blessings for the new year!

    • Silver James says:

Those were perfect plans for NYE! I hope you enjoyed your respite from the world. Scritches to the Catnip Crew and yay for bro lunch. Sounds like a great way to end the year and get ready for what’s coming. πŸ₯°
