Wow. This is a week! Today is definitely Monday and I’m definitely considering taking my own meme advice. 😉 Tomorw is the Ides of March, so if you are Julius Caesar, you should watch out. Also, St. Patrick’s day is fast approaching–like this Thursday! Yes, I’ll be wearing green. Because I like green. And shamrocks. And shennagans. And I might be a little full of malarky. But hey, I write fiction. Malarkey is my pread and butter. As are shennagans. And Irish Coffee. Or a little Baiely’s Irish Cream in my coffee. Either way. And yes, I partly feel this way because this is the Monday after DST. Gah!
So, there was a week. And a weekend. And things occurred. Nothing necessarily earth-shaking in my little corner of the world. The world at large? Yeah. Major $h!+ going on out there. It’s probably a good thing that I’m mostly avoiding twitter. I keep wanting to twee this message: Hey, World. When are y’all gonna find your balls? Moving on.
Writing. There has been progress. I have all the returning books covers updated. I have SEAL MOON mostly revised. I have to update the back matter when is when I was reminded that I would have to update the back matter in ALL the books, because those four particular books are listed under a seperate heading and will be under the Moonstruck Wolf umbrella when they go live again. SEAL MOON, ASSASSIN’S MOON, and UNDER THE ASSASSIN’S MOON will all be updated to include the Hard Target team. I’m not sure what I’m going to do about RESCUE MOON. The HT guys don’t fit and the Moonstruck boys are no longer on active duty. Since some of the Nightriders make small cameos later in the book, maybe I’ll use them. Argh. Anyway, progress. Also, some new words on CROSSFIRE. Kin and Meg are a handful and I really need to stop getting distracted by the news. I was sending them westward into Moldova. Then I realized the terrain was wrong so now I’m moving them further north and into the Carpathian mountains before they head south into Moldova. I’m closing in on 5K words. Not where I’d like to be, but forward progress.
Sports. Lots of sports stuff. Sort of. MLB owners and players finally got their stuff together and agreed to terms. Most teams reported to spring training over the weekend. First spring training games are due to start around the 25th, and Opening Day for the regular season is now set for April 7th, a week behind the original date. I’m ready for some baseball. In the meantime, I’ve been watching college sofftball, when it’s available. My OSU Cowgirls went 4-0 this week, beating Minnesota in two games mid-week and Memphis and Central Arkansas in a weather-shortened tournament over the weekend. OSU is currently #10. #1 OU romped through the Hawaii tournmanet and Jocelyn Alo broke former Sooner Lauren Chamberlain’s NCAA homerun record–doing so in front of a hometown crowd. Special night for her!
I listened to Anne Bishop’s new release in her World of the Others spin-off series. CROWBONES is worth the 5 stars I gave it. I ❤ the whole series but totally admint this fantasy series is an acquired taste. I’m currently doing a slow relisten to Shelly Laurenston’s Pride series. Lots of humor, some suspense, sexy times (I tend to speed through those because…been there, read this many times before) and shifters of lots of flavors.
Not much on TV–besides softball. Not much new on critters. I have discovered frozen Pillsbury Buttermilk Biscuits. I fixed chicken fried steak with mashed taters and gravy last week and wanted biscuits without the hassle of making them from scratch. Uhm…the store had NO canned bisuicts. None. That had pizza dough. A couple of cans of cinnamon rolls. Noooo biscuits. So I discovered the frozen one. Y’all? YUM! They go from frozen lumps to hot, fluffy biscuits in about 25 minutes. Score! Speaking of food, I’m making waffles (homemade) tonight because I need to “kill” the quart of milk I bought to make gravy. Vanilla soy milk does NOT make good cream gravy. :roll” And we don’t really do milk but I need it for waffles so there ya go.
That’s my world. What’s up in yours?
Good morning Silver. I read your post every day. My question is will there be another Nightriders book? I started reading this genre with them, loved the books!! I have all of the series and have reread them many times. So enjoy your writing! Thank you.
Awwww! 🥰 You totally made my Monday, Kathy!!! Yes. There will be more Nightriders. I don’t think the Russian would let me sleep at nights if I don’t eventually write his story. And there are other members who also have tales to tell. My imagination is like having 1000 tabs open in a browser and half of them are playing music. LOLOL
I hope to have CROSSFIRE, the next Hard Target book out in early April. Then I’ll finish the Boston Wolves. After that, it’ll likely be a Nightrider book. Not sure who yet. And there’s a new anthology series on the horizon, in conjunction with other authors, so I’ll need to fit some writing in there. I’m really hoping my health is straightened out and I can get back to my love of writing!
And today’s Pi Day. Today, pie. Tomorrow, stabbing. Thursday, drinking. And after DST, I think we need all three. ;o) Yay for writing progress! Yay for baseball. Yay for reading and yummy biscuits. Enjoy your waffles.
As for me, I took myself in hand and got back to work. I wrote new words last night and then this morning, I finished the edit notes on SSS. I loved your last note. THANK YOU! All I need to do now is a quick read-through for any mistakes I might’ve made while fixing other mistakes. Then I can format and upload this sucker. Oh, and I should probably write that blurb. :wanders off:
How could I forget Pi Day! 🤦🏼♀️ I blame the time change. Yay for taking yourself in hand. I’m getting ready to have my own internal intervention. LOL Can’t wait for SONGS to come out! I ❤ that book!
Grandma Gelineau last name had been Finney, her brother my great uncle was a Catholic priest all from Boston, so I wear green proudly and that is also why Im looking forward to the Boston Wolves😉
DST had never bothered me in past years, but now flipps my internal clock off kilter.
My uncle who passed in January, we are finally laying him to rest today, his partners health has gotten stronger so we could move forward, so last week has been emotional. I have to prepare myself because they are suppose to play Taps and it guts me everytime.
Big hugs, darlin’! I can’t do TAPS on a lone bugle or AMAZING GRACE on the bagpipes. Condolences and love. Hang in there. ❤
