So. I’m convinced that Mercury was in retrograde all last week. I spent at least a part of each day fighting with some facet of technology. There is a reason I am a technophobe, despite my conversations with Copilot, Grok, and my Google-fu with internet searches.
Due to one set of problems, we now have a new smart TV in the bedroom. I’ve yet to decide whether to move the bedroom smart TV to my office or just leave my “dumb” TV there. I’m very disappointed in Samsung. The bedroom TV is newer than the office TV but it’s glitching. I’ve done all the resets, updtates, and other fixes recommended. The screen still hiccups, freezes, pixelates, goes to black screen, sometimes individually, sometimes in order, sometimes various combinations. The thing is, it doesn’t always do any of that. I’ve put up with it probably far longer than I should have because deep down, I’m cheap. Walmart ran a big sale over the weekend and we got a 43″ (the biggest the TV cabinet can hold) with most of the bells and whistles, delivered same-day for under $200. So I hit buy yesterday. Due to getting it set up with all the passwords, etc., my afternoon was pretty much devoted to that, ie. no writing. Best laid plans and all that.
I did manage the laundry. That’s a win in my book.
Still doing the marathon relisten to Larissa Ione’s Demonica/Four Horsemen series. I’m hung up on the 5th book. Not sure why it’s not grabbing me as it always has before. My plan is to finish it, read the Four Horseman books then skip to Reapers book because evidently, the events in REAPER set up things for the new spin-off with the next gen kids getting books.
No soccer this weekend. Not sure why but with the weather swinging between winter and summer within 24 hours, just as well. I did watch a lot of softball. My OSU Cowgirls did well, even coming from behind to win. The Cowboys baseball won too. OU softball split their series with LSU. Evidently, the STL Cardinals are winning but I couldn’t swear to it because we still can’t watch their games without buying their $99 streaming package. Dear Pro Sports, y’all are really screwing things up with the broadcast rights. Just sayin’.
This is going to be a crazy week. LG has MD appointments that require a driver. We have Kid chauffeur (Only and Stormy) duties. I need an admin assistant to keep me on track.
Not much else going on around here. What’s going on around your neck of the woods?

You will love that smart 43 inch screen. I would definitely move my whopper (54 inch) up here if it would fit. Since cancelling my subscription for tv service it barely ever gets used.
I had a 43″ smart TV in the bedroom and a 40″ flat screen in the office. Got the new one all set up, logged in, etc. Watched baseball on streaming. Everything was fine. Came back to “cable” and the new TV pixelated. 🤦🏼♀️
More research and it might be the HDMI cord. New one ordered. Oh well. It was a good deal and I’ve wanted a smart TV in the office anyway. Que sera sera. 😆
Drives me nuts the way one change leads to a dozen other things that have to be adjusted. I’m sure it’s impossible to concentrate on creative writing when all your attention is riveted on getting the equipment to work. Makes you wanna revert to the good old Number twos and a real paper tablet.
You haven’t seen my handwriting. 🤣🤣I used a typewriter before typewriters were cool. I’ve been known to make hand-written notes and then had to spend an hour trying to figure out what I actually wrote. 😆
Hopefully, things will smooth out on the tech side. Now if I could just get RL and peopling to ciioerate,,,ue, keave ne alone! 🙄
Enjoy your rain. I’m jealous!
LOL Oh this made me laugh! Rain seems to be over for now. Good day for working.
Happy Monday, Silver!!! I hope this week goes better for you!
Mornin’, Vero. Very early start this morning for…reasons. I’m working on coffee and mind focus. We shall see what the day brings. Hope youre morning is a good one. 😊
Your problem is probably the HDMI chord. When I had issues when I go ta new tv I thought C was pulling my leg but he replaced the chord and it fixed things at that time. I now have other issues that are related to cable.
Sounds like you will have anther full week.
A took me to Macbeth on Saturday. It was beyond great! The one witch could move her body like a pretzel. She made a great witch.
The bird feeder with camera identified a squirrel but not the raccoon. I had to take it in because of the overeating mammals.
I hope your day goes well.
Yay! I’m so glad you enjoyed the play so much. What an awesome gift. Boo on the critters. The birds are out there grousing because the warm-bloods alway take away the fun for everyone. 😉
And yes, it was likely the HDMI cable. The NEW TV started messing up last night. Luckily, I got one overnighted from the ‘Zon and it arrived at 7:15 this morning. So far, it seems to be working, but I’ll know more tonight once I get down in bed with it on for an extended period. I’m telling myself the extra expenditure for new TV was okay because I’d been wanting a smart TV for the office. The flatscreen that’s in here works perfectly fine, I just can’t stream anything on it–like my college softball games. LOL
Anyway, I now have 2 extra HDMI cables. They came in a 3-pack for $8.54, I also ordered some earbuds since my wired earbits don’t work with my iPhone anyumore. Now I can listen to my audio books in polite company. 😆
Hope your day is going well!
Great that the HDMI’s arrived nice and early. You got a great deal too. My fingers are crossed that all is still great tonight and you can stream all the games.
Good job on getting the earbuds too. I can’t wear anything in my ears. It really bothers me. I can’t wear hats either. I do hoods.
So far the day has not been bad ☺️.
Have a great afternoon!
