Today is November 2. In years past, I’d be in the midst of National Novel Writing Month aka NaNoWriMo. The organization that first created the challenges has apparently drifted away and there’s a new group sponsoring it now. The whole goal is to write a 50,000 word novel in the month of November. Thirty days, average 1667 words a day. I did it for years. More than one of my books is (are?) the result of NaNo. I half-heartedly did it last year. This year, not at all. I’ve been in a writing slump, as I’ve often complained. But the Universe has spoken…
Silver, it’s working.
No, you probably can’t see it yet, but I can.
Wheels are now turning that have never turned before. Winds are now howling that have never howled before. And players from every walk of life are being drawn into place as if in some hypnotic dance.
All because of you, your dreams, and your divinely stubborn persistence.
If I wasn’t the Universe, I don’t think I’d believe it.
Phew-w-w-w-w-w-w…
The Universe

P.S. Silver, it’s working.
What happens when writers write? Wheels turn. Winds blow. People show up. Things happen. And all that goes through the mixmaster that is our imagination and boom! We’ve written a book. What was it Colonel Hannibal Smith used to say when the going got good on “The A Team” TV series? Oh, yeah. “I love it when a plan comes together.” Evidently Hannibal and I aren’t the only ones. The Universe appears to be fond of the idea as well. For the first time in a long while, I’m starting to feel like I’m a real writer again. It’s been a struggle for like…almost two years now. Getting really sick sucks. And even though the medical folks told me it would take a long time, I scoffed more than a bit. But they were right. But, hey! I think the Big U might be right this time. Phew. It’s working.

Happy to hear you are feeling better and getting some writing done. It’s a shame though, that something you love so much places so much pressure on you. There has to be a better way!
