Why yes, I do resemble this today, why do you ask? I’m late. I know. I normally write a blog post and set it up the day before. But I took yesterday off. I didn’t even turn on the computer. And dang if I’m not paying for it this morning. I have 167 email in one account and 97 in another. I suspect most of that 167 are Facebook notifications. *sigh*
So, it’s Monday. All day. And about 5 degrees outside. Only I really have to get out. Dogs are out of food and I’m almost out of coffee. Either event could be disastrous. 😆
Totally random thoughts: Pitcher/catchers report February 5th and MLB Spring Training starts on Valentine’s Day. That’s better than chocolate. Almost. Baseball is my sport. I watch the Superbowl for the commercials.
Speaking of sports, OU beat Alabama. Yay. OSU (Ok State) lost to Mizzou. Haz a sad. That other OSU (Ohio State) lost. There’s a National title game tonight–Auburn vs. Florida State. *yawn* Did I mention it’s only 30 days to pitcher/catcher? 😉
More randomness–I’ve been sucked into the vortex that is Christine Feehan’s Dark Carpathian series. I’m on book…5? It’s hard to remember because they’re all so much alike. Sadly. But there’s still something oddly…enticing about them. Lots of sex. LOTS of sex. And these books were out back in 2000.
Okay…I’ve stalled long enough and had my first cup of coffee. The brain is functioning. Sort of. How was your weekend? And are you frozen in your neck of the woods?
It got up to 47 yesterday and I actually felt ‘warm’ !!! it was -4 before that. Thankfully, we missed the blizzard that hit our old house on LI 😉 I shouldn’t laugh, we had 8 inches here in PA but that’s nothing unusual. I hear you get used to the colder temps but I don’t believe it – then again, I lived here for 7ish years I don’t remember being overly upset with the cold before. Maybe I’m just more sensitive to it since having my girls – I used to like hot weather too. Not so much any more. Just call me a ‘fair weather’ girl.
Sports … hmmm, personally I like football even if I’m not watching it, I like to hear it in the background. Baseball, not so much. Too many OCD tendencies that drive me crazy – I’d watch if they could sack the pitcher though !!! *giggle*
I heard that about the CF series, the similarities I mean, which is why I never started. Guess it’s for the best – I’ve got too many other books to read/catch up on. How is her writing itself though? I’m getting rather picky lately 😦
I’ll be discussing her books on Wednesday, so you’ll just have to come back then. 😆 I will say, that like most writers, she has matured with “age and experience.” Some of the things she did back then (and her editor let her) wouldn’t fly today, IMO.
I loved the carpathian series until about book 6…and like you said. They start repeating themselves and I couldn’t read them anymore. Ban, she is really good, just only read about 3 books. 🙂 I read them years ago when she first came out and I was just in love with her. To bad her plots are on repeat. Getting really picky here too, Ban.
Very cold here…6 degress. Brr!!
LOVEEE football! Go OU!!
I liked her Ghostwalker and Seven Sisters series better, Ash. ANY of the books based on the Carpathians got old fast. LOL And I think I actually started with book six and worked my way backwards but didn’t read them back to back so didn’t figure things out for awhile. Yeah. I’m slow like that. 😉
I often turn off the computer (or not turn it on) over the weekends – kind of freeing. I, however, don’t have e-mail accounts that would be filled with over 150 messages! Holy cow – I’m excited when I open up my Hotmail and I see 5 or more 😉
We’re lucky to be missing the cold (my mom, however, has had -54F windchills – brrr), but we’re getting pelted with rain. The temperatures are supposed to drop so we’ll be left with an icy mess! Gotta love winter – NOT!
I swear email is the bane of my existence sometimes! 😆 Even with filters. Icy rain is not good, but probably better than -54F windchill because holey moley, what’s the actual air temp and/or wind speed? Dang!
You were late posting which made me late commenting. It’s a vicious cycle. I’m glad you took Sunday off, though. You deserved a break (even if it overloaded your inbox.) I’m sad for your team losing. And I’m sad because the last college game was last night. :sniffle: But MSU won the Rose Bowl and the evil OSU lost, so it all evens out. (I won’t mention U of M. They depress me.) Yay for baseball approaching. College football is my sport, but I love baseball, too. =o)
The weekend here was pretty okay. Freakin’ cold, but other than that, good. I got back to work, which is always good.
Getting back to work is always good! And yeah, I don’t care much for pro football and only pay attention to college because of the local teams. But baseball? I do love me some baseball! 😀 Stay warm!
