These sliders are quick and easy to put together, warm and gooey, and utterly delicious. They work for cool nights and warm days–in other words, perfect for a Spring when Mother Nature can’t make up her mind whether she’s coming or going.

Hawaiian Sliders
1-2 packages Hawaiian rolls
1 onion, minced
1 stick butter
3 tablespoons Dijon mustard
3 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
3 teaspoons poppy seeds
1-1 1/2 lbs. shaved deli ham
8-10 slices cheese (your choice – Swiss, cheddar, provolone)
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350
In a saucepan, melt butter then add minced onion and cook until onions are soft. Add mustard, Worcestershire, and poppy seeds. Simmer for 5 minutes.
Line 9 x 12 baking pan with foil. Slice rolls in half. Place bottoms in pan. Spoon 2/3 of butter/onion mixture on rolls, layer ham and cheese. Put the top of the rolls on. Spoon rest of onion mixture on top of rolls. Back for 20 minutes.
Easy peasy and not hard to clean up, especially if you eat on paper plates. 😆 And great for when I’m under deadline. Or the St. Louis Cardinals are playing on TV. Or it’s tax day and you need easy comfort food. Or it’s the day of the blood moon. The Wolves love my Hawaiian Sliders. 😉
Happy Tuesday. I’m working. *nods* Stop laughing. What are you up to today?

Oooh, I could have one of those right now for breakfast. They look fabulous – will definitely try them (although I don’t think we get Hawaiian Rolls here – any soft bun would work, right?)!!
If memory serves, Janet, they’re like soft dinner rolls, but a touch sweeter. I just checked the Kings Hawaiian (the only brand I know of) website and they don’t have them within 50 miles of you, but maybe they haven’t made it to your area yet.
B.E.’s right. I make these with King’s Hawaiian rolls but you can use any yeast dinner roll that’s shaped like the ones in the pic. I hadn’t thought about making them for breakfast but yum!
Well I paid my taxes yesterday, so trying not to spend much money today. lol
I’m working today and processing payroll for most of the employees at my company. Also making sure all the quarterly tax payments go out today and quarterly payroll taxes are correct since due by end of the month. We have some snow falling this morning, but still plan on walking after work. Have another 5k next weekend.
Ugh. Taxes. *makes sign of crossed fingers to ward off evil* And weather! At least the sun is shining today and the warm-up starts. Headed your way tomorrow. Enjoy your walk!
Those look yummy, Silver. Thanks.
I have no freakin’ idea what I’m up to today. Round three of the Squirrel Eviction? Waiting for my deck decor to arrive? Continuing to clean up my family trees? Gravel shift? Probably a combination of all three plus more. It’s Spring and the possibilities are endless.
Dang, woman! Slow down. I’ll never catch up! 😉
Reblogged this on free fringes and commented:
dinner tonight!
Enjoy them, Erica! I’m tempted to run to the store to make them for dinner, too! 😆 And thanks for the reblog. 🙂
