Wednesday Words: Cowgirls Don’t Cry

Cowgirls Dont Cry 680 Pardon me while I continue riding the wave of awesomeness that is my cover for COWGIRLS DON’T CRY. I have more news to share–and a new contest–this week but it will come Friday. I thought I’d post some of my favorite lines from COWGIRLS today.

Chance Barron always knew exactly what he wanted. At the moment, he’d set his sights on the attractive blonde sitting at the hotel bar.

Yeah, that blonde would be Cassie Morgan, the heroine. But…Cass has other things on her mind.

Cassidy Morgan leaned against the window in the hotel lobby, her cell phone pressed to her ear. Outside, fat cotton balls of snow drifted across her view—like staring into the heart of a giant snow globe. Dizzy and a tad claustrophobic, her equilibrium thrown off both physically and emotionally, she closed her eyes.

Because, she just said goodbye to her dad…

How could she absorb the enormity of this event and not let it drive her to her knees? She closed her eyes against the prickle of tears. She didn’t cry. Not in public. Hadn’t she learned that from her dad? Cowgirls were tough. Well, dammit, she wasn’t a cowgirl. Not anymore. Not for a long time.

And because this IS a Harlequin Desire, you know there has to be some sexy-fun stuffs…

And now Mr. Chancellor was pulling up in her front yard. Buddy leaped off the porch and charged the truck, dancing and barking as the driver’s-side door opened and six-foot plus of sexy man stepped out. Since she’d last seen him, she’d done her best to convince her libido that the man was not nearly as hot as she remembered.

Her libido doubled over in laughter.

There are more but I don’t want to give away the whole story! I really like Chance and Cassie. They’re good together–or would be if they’d get out of each other’s way. *bwahaha* Anybody have any words to share? And don’t forget, if you’re on Twitter, that Kiss of Death is hosting it’s #1lineWed meme on Twitter. This week’s theme is settings. Stop by to see what everyone is sharing! Happy Hump Day!

    MMMM Happy hump day!!

  2. Great lines, Silver! I am so ready for this book to be out already.

The only lines I have on my mind this week have typos in them. I swear I must’ve been sleep deprived when I tweezed this thing. :headdesk: And get this… I tweezed it down to be under 100K for one publisher, and I looked at another last night who doesn’t want anything UNDER 100K. Arrgghh.

  3. I can’t wait either*pats foot*l have been rereading the Wolves, and I missed a few things the first time around, I was devouring them*wink no pun intended* Nate’s story pulls at your heat because it drives home what happen to them, I really like Jacey. Sean’s well the scene in the fort Cody is hugging Boomer, they are nose to muzzle and he tells him I love you*grab tissue*
I don’t mean to sound heartless, but Dr. Sutherland delivered more pain!!
I forgot about the USB and sticky note? So now we wait, poor DJ is always a day late and a dollar short-rofl
Sorry didn’t mean to do a wolves recap
    Happy Hump Day!

B.E. good luck with your tweezing!!

    • Silver James says:

Lots of little nuances in the books that mean something later. Because I’m all evil like that.*bwahaha*

With any luck at all, I’ll have BLUE MOON out by October 15th. I’ll share the cover for it tomorrow on Facebook. 😉

And that was a pretty darn good Wolf recap! 😀

Got something to say?
