Friday Sinema – Longmire

Longmire is/was one of those shows you really liked or didn’t care much for. Me? I loved it. It was the only reason I watched A&E. It’s consistently been one of their highest rated show but…hrm…it didn’t track well in the 18-24 age group so they cancelled it. Seriously? Why do networks, etc. cater to that age group? Most of them are living at home, paying off school loans for degrees they can’t use. It’s the older demographic where Longmire was highly rated that has money to spend on goods and services. So anyway, A&E cancelled the show. On a massive cliffhanger. Like they did with The Glades. The producers, stars, and fans, have a grass root effort going to find the show a home on a better, smarter network. When I saw this video on Facebook, I wanted to share it because damn if it doesn’t sum up the show and why I watched it in four minutes.

Have a great weekend!

  1. Do 18-24 year olds even watch A&E? (As an aside, remember when A&E stood for Arts and Entertainment?) It seems to me a lot of channels stopped paying attention to their loyal fans and started trolling for a different demographic. I can’t even watch most of TLC anymore.

Anyway, sorry they cancelled your show. I was one of those people who couldn’t get into it, but still it seemed like a good show and didn’t deserve to be cancelled. =o(

I have no clue. I besides LONGMIRE, I watched it for THE FIRST 48. I don’t anymore. I’ll catch reruns on other channels but I refuse to watch A&E at all. They obviously don’t appreciate my patronage. *shrug* There’s been so much backlash on social media it’s hit the big media. Fans are pretty sure the producers will find a new home for it. They’re shopping it hard. It’s a good show and I’m not seeing a whole lot in the new season that will hold my attention like it did.

Got something to say?
