Tuesday Tease – Books and More Books

Cowgirls Secret 680Today is release day for the paperback version of THE COWGIRL’S LITTLE SECRET. Yay! That means it will be appearing on shelves in a book retailer near you. My digital sales are always so much stronger as evidenced by my numbers at Amazon:

Amazon Best Sellers Rank: #8,864 Paid in Kindle Store (See Top 100 Paid in Kindle Store)
#5 in Kindle Store > Kindle eBooks > Literature & Fiction > Contemporary Fiction > Western
#6 in Kindle Store > Kindle eBooks > Romance > Series > Harlequin Desire
#69 in Books > Literature & Fiction > Genre Fiction > Westerns

Here’s a little snippet–a scene that started out really angry as I first wrote it and then just sort of turned sad and resigned as I edited. I like the way it turned out and speaks volumes about Cord’s and Jolie’s relationship.

“What do you want to talk about, Cord?”

“Our son.”

No hesitation on his part. OUR son. Those words seared her soul like the hot Oklahoma wind.

“I really want to be CJ’s dad. I want to spend time with him. Do things and get to know him. Make up for lost time, you know?”

Now he was tugging on her guilty conscience, so she said nothing but a noncommittal “Mmm.”

“Can we do this without getting the lawyers involved?”

Still she didn’t answer, marshalling her chaotic thoughts. She didn’t want to share CJ. She didn’t. Especially not with the Barrons. The Barrons… Okay, CYRUS Barron was the problem. That horrid old man was nothing but poison when it came to his own sons. She sighed inwardly because Cord was right. CJ was his son, too.

“We have a son together, Jolie. Can’t we be friends at least?”

And speaking of new releases…

Siobhan Outback DreamsMy good friend and sister street team to be sponsor, Siobhan Muir, just released OUTBACK DREAMS, the second part of her Ivory Road serial novel. THE IVORY ROAD is the first part of the serial. This series is a fun fantasy about an actress who shifts through dimensions. Her books are for sale HERE, as well as all the on-line booksellers. Go check them out.

In other writing news, I just can’t get the Wolves of the 69th and Hannah to mind their own business. Mac and Sean decided to drop in to visit the Nightriders. Things were going fine in church. No bloodshed. Yet. Despite Mac and the Russian having almost equal Alpha powers. Then Hannah decided to make an entrance. With a little C4 and loaded for bear. Here’s a little tease because I don’t want Hannah to shoot me. 😉

There was a soft boom and the doors shuddered. Seconds later, the doors were kicked in and a blond woman armed to the teeth stood there wreathed in smoke.

Before anybody could react, Mac yelled, “Hannah, what the fuck?”

Those are my teases. How ’bout the rest of you? Do you have a book you’re reading or writing you want to tease us with?

WTG Silver and Siobhan! Very awesome!

HA about your teaser about Easy’s story. I wonder what he thought about that??? hehehe

Just got Wreck back from formatter this morning… dang they are fast! Granted, I already knew what I wanted because I wanted it to look like Fuel. He does a great job. (thanks for passing along that name, Silver)

Here’s my lil tease from Wreck:
He lifted his head, breaking the kiss, and reality smacked her in the face. The crowd roared in approval, and she sucked in a breath. He turned his attention to the guys who had been harassing her and smiled at them—or more accurately, bared his teeth.
    “Any questions?”

Gawd, I love Ethan!! (it is okay to have a serious crush on my own character, right?)

    • siobhanmuir says:

Thanks, Ashlynn. Now I just have to figure out what she’s gonna do next. 🙂

    • Silver James says:

Yes. I crush on my guys all the time. LOLOL And yup, I’m gonna really like Ethan, too. 😉 Nothing like an alpha male “marking” his territory. And here’s another little tease with part of Easy’s reaction (this is his 1st POV): Not sure what to do, I watched the drama unfold like it was some action-adventure movie and I was sitting in the audience eating popcorn. Then I realized Boomer was doubled over laughing. 😉

  2. siobhanmuir says:

Oh, you definitely are a tease, Silver! I loved the little bit with Mac and Hannah. And thank you so much for the shout out. ❤

    • Silver James says:

Hey, I’ve enjoyed the heck out of the Ivory Road. Can’t wait for the next installment. I wrote almost 3K words yesterday. Easy and Sam were very talkative. Here’s hoping they keep jabbering at me today! 😀

  3. WHOOOOOO! God I love Hannah!!
The Wolves are not going to sit idle–since their is abit of Mac’s
past tied in they really aren’t!!!
You say you re read the Death Series–I tend to re read the Wolves–
work has been majorly stressing and getting lost in the wolves is
the pick me up I need. Thank you! In the middle of Nate/Jacey after Moonstruck secrets and I still laugh so hard!!

Well that explains why I didn’t see your book at Walmart–thou the HQ section looked like fire sale and someone moved all the books around?
    Congrats Siobhan on the release!!!
    have a great day!
ps the crew at work looked at me funny as i read the teaser to myself because I started laughing out loud =)

    • Silver James says:

ROFL. Yeah, sometimes it’s hard to explain. The Wolves have only a small cameo in the Nightriders but yeah, they’ll drift in and out of both Nightrider and Hard Target books as story/plot/characters demand. 😉

And thank you for rereading my books because they put you in a happy place. That’s the biggest compliment an author can get! ❤

    • siobhanmuir says:

Thank you so much, Kimber. 🙂
