How can we already be over halfway through November?!?! *flail*
I started this last night but then things sort went hectic on the author’s loop for the anthology series that releases in February 2020, of which FIGHTING FOR ELENA is the “lead-off” book. 🚒 There’s actually not an order but my book starts a bit earlier and covers the event from Susan Stoker’s book that introduces a good number of our heroes. Anyway, one of my secondary characters (who will be the hero in the next round) was at the root of the situation. The other author and I worked it out and I’m liking the change of circumstances for my guy so it’s all good. But it bit into both blog and writing time and then it was dinner time and then it was bedtime and I slept sorta late because tired (also fighting the sniffly/coughing/aching yucks).
Moving on. There was a weekend. Stormy played his last soccer game of the season. He scored and had an assist and Only informs me that he’s sad soccer is over. Jake had his first experience at Walmart. He was a little freaked by the parking lot, wasn’t too sure of the cart at first, got “hijacked” by an older Navy vet so got lots of pets and I didn’t have the heart to explain that we were training and as a working service dog, Jake wasn’t supposed to get pets from strangers but what the hey… I only went in to get milk so it was a quick in-and-out–or would have been but for the delay. He wasn’t sure about sit-and-stay as I stopped for the 2 cartons of milk but he did down-and-stay at checkout. All in all, a good experience I think.
In sports news. Holly carp! (And no, those are not misspelled. 😉 ) The REAL OSU did a great job against Les Miles’s Kansas, winning 31-13. KU didn’t score until the 4th quarter. Looong history there. Miles is a former OSU coach who left under…less-than-desired circumstances and went to LSU. LSU finally got rid of him so I can root for them again. Yay. Anyway, it was nice to beat his current team. Go Pokes! Pistols firing!!! OU went up against Baylor. First half, Baylor beat the pants off the Sooners. Score was 31-10 at the half. We couldn’t watch so yay for LIVE PD. Second half, OU’s defense (which is somewhat questionable this year) held Baylor to ZERO scores and the offense climbed out of the deficit with a TD in the 3rd and 17 points in the 4th for a 34-31 win. I figure Norman Regional Hospital ER was full of Sooner fans before all was said and done.
Writing. It’s bi-polar. When it’s going good, the words flow and I get so much written. When it’s not, or there are a lot of distractions, not so good. Still, the good days make up for the slow ones and I’m ahead on my NaNoWriMo count, even though a couple thousand in the count belong to another project because hey! When inspiration hits after MONTHS of lethargy, those words gotta hit the page. Anyway, things are still progressing and it’s all good.
I mentioned LIVE PD, which includes the whole franchise. I didn’t catch “The Masked Singer.” It’s on DVR. I’ll watch soon. Other than that, yeah, pretty much LIVE PD. Darrell Ross from Tulsa PD was the studio guest this weekend. I’m dying to use him and Sticks Larson (also of TPD and one of the usual in-studio hosts) as cover models!
I finished Kristen Ashley’s Dream Man series (except for the newest which is way later in the time line of the interconnected series so I’ll come back to it) and moved on to the Chaos series, also a fav. At the moment though, I’ve veered into her Unfinished Hero series becaus the first book there fits into the Chaos timeline between two of the middle books. KA is a bit “incestuous” with her characters, which I love. Because, you know.🤣 Like I don’t do the same with all the Wolf series. 🐾 Anyway, her books are steamy/sexy/HOT🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 and characters from all her series set in Colorado tend to pop up in other Colorado series books. It’s fun but I like order to my reading. Anyway…
Time to hit it. I’m going a Jammie run this afternoon, picking up Stormy from school then hanging around until Baseball Boy gets away and meets us at an appointment the little dude has, where I will hand off and head home. Late start, short day, daylight’s burning and I have many words to go before my day is done. Hope y’all had a good weekend and have a great week coming up!
Wow. Loads of stuff going on with you. Sorry I’m late, but we were working in the woods this morning and since then, I’ve been a vegetable. And I still have words to do tonight. I had a major plot twist jump up and slap me. Lucky it’s for the end. I wrote it down.
You can do this! And so can I! Here’s to both of us hitting our goals for the day. :hugs:
Cheers to new words! I had Jammie duties so only got about 1800 words but words! Plus a new twist, a tie-in to the title, and the reunion between Hope and Nate. 🙂 A good day. Happy woods time but don’t overdo it physically. You had two hard days last week! Now curl up with the drink of your choice and get those words out!
Overdo it? Me? Bwahahahaha.
We did, in fact, overdo it, but that’s par for the course. The new neighbors felled a big black walnut and when it dropped, its top was over the property line, so, of course, I needed to clean that up. And then Hubs came out to say hi and got wrapped up in it, too. We got ‘er done so we can now run a line between the newly surveyed property pins and know exactly where our northern boundary is. Yay! Of course, I didn’t get any words written yesterday.
The words will come. And yeah, having boundaries helps. 😉
